Using a ring sling is super easy and super fast, but you need some practice and a little bit of patience to get it right😊

1. Place the sling on your shoulder (left or right side- you decide). Spread the fabric on your back. Grab the tail and pass it through both rings, over the upper ring and under the bottom ring. Make sure that the fabric does not twist.

2. The rings should be placed high on your shoulder (you will pull down when adjusting the sling). Make sure that there is just enough fabric to create a “room” for the baby. If you have too much room, it will be difficult to adjust the sling.

3. Carefully slide the baby into the sling from the top. The lower rail should go under the baby’s bottom and support your baby’s knee pits. Support the baby’s bottom with one hand while tightening the sling with the other. Tighten the sling by pulling the top rail in the direction on the fabric (horizontal), then pull the mid rail in the direction on the fabric (diagonal) and then pull the lower rail in the direction of the fabric (vertical).

Repeat until your baby’s back is completely supported by the fabric and has the shape of a ‘C’. The baby’s bottom should always be lower than the knees to make an ergonomically correct babywearing position. Spread the sling on your shoulder to give yourself maximum support. You’re good to go!

WARNING: The fabric must never cover your baby’s face. Airways should always be free. The baby’s head should be close enough to kiss. Keep the baby’s chin up. Monitor the baby all the time.

It is always a good idea to meet with the babywearing consultant to help you begin your babywearing journey.
