100% Organic Handmade Mulberry Silk
We have spent nearly one year on this project and finally we are able to present this very unique product.
This is the essence of sustainable luxury.
Every little bit of this fabric are made by hand, using a very old technique. The women start by planting the organic mulberry leaves. They handfeed the silkworms with the leaves, and after some time they can spin the silk yarn. Then they dye it with organic vegetable dyes and finally they hand weave the fabric. This is a very long process. The natural dyeing process gives the fabric a variation of different nuances of light rose.
This silk wrap is strong and breathable. It has a beautiful shine and a very thin luxurious hand feel. It is perfect and most comfortable for newborns and babies- up to 12kg. This is the perfect summer sling.
This ring sling will be released in 3 colors: Purple, Light Rose and Olive brown.
Löft Ring slings are named after the weaver who made it. This one is named after Sakron, who made the purple version of this. Our weaving patterns symbolize the mountains of Himalaya and the hills of Northeast Thailand, where the Löft ring slings are made.
A Löft product is made by humans, not machines. No hands are perfect and no threads are endless, so there might be visible thread shifts, small knots and other irregularities. This is the beauty of a handwoven product. Every piece is unique.
To limit the use of plastic and unnecessary packing, your ring sling/wrap will come in an handwoven organic drawstring bag. When you wear your baby on the front, you can carry diapers and food in the drawstring on the back.
When your carrying days are over, we recommend that you pass on the ring sling/wrap to other parents or make it into your favorite scarf, embracing all the memories of you carrying your baby.
